Fortunately, there is a way to increase your FPS count in case you’re running below the desired 60-or-more threshold. Below, we take a quick look at how to adjust your game settings for a smoother and faster experience in Apex Legends.
Step 1: Set Your FPS to Unlimited
Before jumping into the game settings, it’s a good idea to first remove any pre-set FPS limits on your PC. Here’s how you do it:
Launch EA Origins Go to Game Library Select Apex Legends Open Settings Click on Game Properties Go to Advanced Launch Options tab In Command Line Argument type in +fps_max unlimited Press Save
This quick procedure will remove any FPS limitations that might have been pre-installed on your PC.
Step 2: Adjust Game Settings
Now, you can start adjusting your game settings. There are no set rules here, so be free to try out different things. But here are a few suggestions that may help you significantly.
Aspect Ratio: Native Resolution: Native or less Field of View: 100 or less V-Sync: Disabled Adaptive Frame Resolution: 0 Anti-aliasing: Disabled Texture Streaming Budget: Should correspond to your GPU RAM Texture Filtering: Bilinear
The remaining settings should also be disabled. This will give you the maximum performance boost, and your FPS count should rise well above the 100 FPS threshold.
Step 3: Edit Configuration File
This last step is not necessary, but if you want to squeeze out every additional bit of FPS on your system, then follow these steps:
Go to “%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex\local” directory Open “videoconfig. txt” file Set “cl_ragdoll_self_collision” to “0” Set “mat_depthfeather_enable” to “0” Set “r_lod_switch_scale” to “0. 5”
Set “cl_ragdoll_self_collision” to “0” Set “mat_depthfeather_enable” to “0” Set “r_lod_switch_scale” to “0. 5”
