The process of first obtaining a Sanquine Elixir will require a lot of blood packs, as well as taming one of the new and unique Fjordur creatures.

How to Get Sanguine Elixir in ARK

Tame Desmodus

Desomodus is a bat-like creature, which can be found and tamed on the Fjordur map. It is quite aggressive and unpredictable, so you need to have a solid strategy before trying to tame it.

This beast can be tamed by feeding it as many blood packs as it desires. Here’s a simple step-by-step description on how to tame it:

Put at least 10 blood packs in your hotbar. Approach Desmodus in the wild. Let it grab you and take you up into the air. Let it consume all the blood packs.

At this point, it will either be tamed or it’ll drop you on the ground. If the latter happened, then you need to repeat the same steps over again until it is finally tamed.

Craft 200 Blood Packs

Desmodus is capable of producing Sanguine Elixir only if it has at least 200 blood packs in its inventory and wears a saddle.

Typically, blood packs can be crafted using Blood Extraction Syringe, which becomes available as an engram once you reach Level 5. This item requires 6 engram points and a waterskin to be created. Then, you can use it to craft blood packs by sacrificing 25 HP.

However, every time Desomodus attacks another creature, a blood pack is automatically added to its inventory. This is a much quicker and safer way of producing blood packs.

Craft Sanguine Elixir

Once you have all these ingredients in place, follow these steps to start adding Sanguine Elixir to your inventory:

Equip a tamed Desmodus with a saddle. Add at least 200 packs to its inventory. Go to “Consumables” menu. Click on “Sanguine Elixir” recipe to craft a potion.

You can repeat this process as many times as you want as soon as you meet all the requirements.
