This year’s entries are being separated into two categories: maps and mods. As it is still a single contest, creators can only enter one category.

To participate in this year’s contest, modders should go to the Epic Store and download the ARK development kit, participate in the Unreal Engine ARK Modding Forum, and find content to work off of in the Unreal Engine Marketplace. Interested modders should check out the official rules on ARK’s website.

All creations must be submitted by June 29. After the submission period, the final entries will be picked by the development team. The community will then have two weeks to vote for its favorite creations.

Those that vote will be entered into a raffle to win an ARK: Survival Evolved Collector’s Edition signed by the development team.

The number winner will receive $10,000; their mod or map will be included in the game. Second and third place crreators or teams will earn $5,000 and $2,500, respectively.

First introducing Unreal Engine 4 to its modding community in 2015, Studio Wildcard created one of the first custom mod editors. Since then, various creators have added a plethora of content to ARK: Survival Evolved. The most ambitious of modders have refined their creations throughout the first three Modding Contests; previous entries to the contest have included Tribe Wars, Valhalla, and the Ragnarok map.
